We know that choosing a maintenance company is a big decision for any home owner. We put together these Frequently Asked Questions to help assist you with the process.

What makes McCabe’s Maintenance different from other landscape maintenance companies?

McCabe’s Maintenance is unique in that we offer the personalized service of a small gardening company but with the professionalism and protection of a licensed, bonded and insured landscape construction company. Like an independent gardener, our teams work alone or in small teams of two. We get to know you and your landscape. We offer the safety and protection of a larger company with the personalized service of a family business.

Do your men just ‘mow and blow’ or do they provide full service including plant care?

We offer a number of plans that are tailored to your individual wants and needs. We do offer lawn only service, but the majority of our customers opt for full service care packages that include plant care, fertilization and seasonal irrigation adjustments.

How many people will maintain my yard?

In most cases, our crews work solo or in small teams of two. There is just no better way to provide you with a more personalized service.

Are my gardeners trained and supervised?

In one word — absolutely! Every maintenance crew member receives hands on plant and grass training before they ever step foot onto your property. After their initial training, each new trainee works with a seasoned maintenance staff member until they have mastered the full spectrum of our service offerings.

Will I always have the same gardener?

We always try to send the same crew to your home for each visit. Sometimes that’s not always possible due to illness, vacations or days off. But don’t worry! If your regular gardener is out, we will send another amazing crew member who has gone through training. You can rest assured your landscape will be consistently cared for, each and every time.

Are you bonded and insured?

Of course we are! But unlike independent gardeners, McCabe’s Maintenance insurance includes the most important insurance…worker’s compensation.

How do you access my yard if I lock my gate?

Most customers provide us with a gate key that we keep at our office. Your key will be kept safe and secure. If it’s not possible to leave a key with us, you can always meet your maintenance team at your home. If you’d like to wait for your team, please remember that you will be given an arrival window of about 4 hours — such as 9am to 1pm, or 11am to 3pm. Because many factors can affect arrival time, smaller arrival windows can’t be provided.

Can I choose the day and time of my service?

While we do our best to accommodate requests, our routes are optimized to allow our crews to spend the most time at each house as possible by minimizing travel time. If your requested day is full, we do have a waiting list and when a spot opens on that day, we happily move customers into available time and day slots.

How do I pay for my maintenance services?

McCabe’s Maintenance bills on either the 1st or the 15th of the month for the previous month’s services. We require a credit card on file as well as a signed maintenance agreement before service is started.

What is the cost of my gardening?

The cost is based on a number of factors. The primary factors are the size and condition of your landscape and frequency of service. At McCabe’s Maintenance, we listen to what you want done and will construct a personalized quote that will fit your budget.

Should I tip my gardener?

We always encourage you to show your appreciation if you’re happy with the work done in your landscape. It’s never a requirement, but a gratuity is a powerful way to say thanks. Even a personal note from you, simply saying “thanks for making my landscape look wonderful” means a great deal.

How do I give feedback on my service?

Because gardening is a very personalized and subjective service, we highly encourage our customers to give us feedback so we continually customize your service. The feedback we receive helps us to serve you better, correct any problems and give praise to the maintenance crews who meet and exceed expectations. You can submit feedback at Maintenance@McCabesNursery.com.
